22. 3-Iron (Kim Ki-Duk, 2004, S. Korea)
last year i went to a free screening of Pieta with kim in attendance (a movie i did not like) and i completely forgot he directed this movie. last time i saw this was…2008-2009 i think?
a consummate festival-circuit movie, willfully obtuse foreign art house. it’s meditative and occasionally brilliant with lingering, thoughtful imagery and slow pacing. says quite a lot with very little. it wasn’t as good the second time around though for some reason.
